Got a whole bunch of new Kennedy halves from 2023 with P and D mint mark must have been released in circulation?

I have 1 2023-D I got from Local Bank. Haven't seen any others yet.

More Kennedy half dollars were struck in 2023 than any year in the 21st century. There will be quite a few out there, more than 50 million if memory serves.

I know this is kind of an old topic but has anyone found out WHY the mint started making more halves and the huge numbers for 2023 especially?

I have not seen any evidence of them appearing in circulation.

The banks ran out of them, the Fed ordered more from the Mint.

They are showing up in the CRH topic.
