Hmmmmmmm.... Could be, Sil but would like to hear some more speculation on this and maybe some nice, clear closeups from the OP.

I'm thinking PMD.

No need for close-ups. It looks like that cent was mashed, as the dents on the obverse and those on the reverse are in line with each other. PMD. I'm thinking that something like this was involved.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

DingoDollars, Your coin is PMD. I also see a minor MAD on the obverse. On the reverse I see DDD and Ridge Ring. Not a doubled die. John1

Admittedly this does appear to be PMD, but I find it strange that some of the device details are clearly visible in some of the dents. Normally the details on the devices would be obliterated as well if they were caused after the strike. Just my thoughts.

Quote: the devices would be obliterated as well if they were caused after the strike. not obliterated, just smashed down by whatever force was applied. This is just Post Mint Damage.

with Hondo, I was initially thinking the jaws of a vice, but not many marks for that on this coin.
