Well maybe I will call the reservation center Monday just out of curiosity to see if the RV Park is filled up. Coppernickeldaddy what are you saying you could get back in line the last time quite a few times.
It states 10 rolls per time through the line did they run out of them?
Guess they will not give you a box as it states 10 rolls per person but you can get back in line again.
I guess they do not sell the two mint roll set there do they?
Just read the article guess they do not offer the two roll set darn.

Did make reservations to stay in the park for a few days, they have a few cabins left to reserve, and all types of spots for RV'S and camping, etc. The reservations #866-622-6746 ( Jeremy ) very helpful, also called the park for information, #812-9374710 (Mary ) also very helpful, according to her the amount of expected people should exceed 4000( she answers the phone and has a clue to how many will be there. Also she said her people HAD DISCUSSIONS with the Mint people and she states that the "Mint will be prepared to meet the people's coin needs", she also states that there will be an hour long ceremony and then the coins will be for sale, all starts at 10 am, Hope this is helpful, be well,if nothing else this should be very interesting also very Historic, Mike....

Location, Location, Location. And I am nowhere near any of these locations (West Texas), to make it really worth the funds. I am certain that the thrill of the obtaining these Centennial gems would be worth it, but...kinda hard to describe the feeling to the Mrs. I am certain that the public is catching on, and will probably be more attendance as these events happen. Still looking in the store's safe for those Log Cabins...all circulated memorials so far.
success,

IMPORTANT!!In the past few days, I have spoken with both the Lincoln City Post Office and the Lincoln City Park. I have learned that the Post Office closes everyday at 10:30 AM and that the Lincoln Cent exchange will not begin until after the program... between 11:00 - 11:30. BOTH have confirmed this! This will mean that No Rolls will have the Postal cancellation on them. The Amphitheater where the coin exchange will be is planning on having a stamp (as in rubber-stamp) made and charging $.25 per roll to stamp them. I didn't find out if the stamp would have "First Day Issue" or just the date, or exactly what. You may verify this at the Lincoln City PO @ 812-937-4116 Sorry to be the bearer... I wish I was wrong. I was just reading my Coin World on line it said that the 2nd cent may also be offered on Ma 14th at 10am in Washington DC at Union Station and the 1st floor of Mint Headquarters. They said the 1st was also offered at these places but that was never made public. Anyone know any more about this as I can drive to DC in about 3 hours and would do that. It said that this was not positive yet but could be how can we find out where these are the article in Coin World was a little confusing to me.

I'll try to do some more checking tomorrow. Gentryville looks closer than Santa Claus... but SC would be cooler in my opinion Buffaloville is also nearby. Looks like I'll be Googling PO's tomorrow I'll post what I find. DRS

I spoke to the woman that runs the Lincoln City P.O. two weeks ago. She told me that she was aware that people would want to have rolls stamped and that she would be closed. She went on to say that she was going to have an area set up to sell stamps and do the cancellations. She said she was working on staffing when I called. I hope that still holds true. The mint may have scared her away by saying so many people would attend. I will call her in the morning and post what I find.

Hi Torn... I spoke with her on Friday and she told me she HAD planned on having a table / booth or something of the like. (huumm... probably shouldn't have a "booth" at a Lincoln celebration ) >SORRY< But it's the people who run the Ampitheater that won't let her set up. The are making their own "rubber-stamp" and charging $.25 per roll. They are doing this as a fund-raiser for the Ampitheater. I tried to contact someone there today... I was going to suggest letting the P.O. set up, and charging the $.25 per roll anyway. I thought they could set up an area for the P.O. and have a "cover-charge" to go in. That way, they would still raise the money for the theater. The ph# for the Ampitheater is 812-937-4493 Maybe if they got enough calls...? DRS

Sounds to me like she needs to keep her Post Office open later that day. She could make a killing selling stamps. Is it possible to get a regional manager involved to make this happen? I would really like to get my rolls postmarked in Lincoln City, to match the ones I had done in Hodgenville, rather than stamped by Santa Claus
