She's really a nice lady. (P.O. lady) She told me that she had thought about keeping it open (which would be on her own time I'm sure.), but she has children at home that need her as well. We can't blame her for that I don't think it would do any good going over her head. 10:30 AM is their regular closing time... everyday. I was also told this by the lady at the L.C. Park. Small town... small Post Office. The best bet is calling the Amphitheater. I guess it's Santy Claus here we come!! DRS

Well just talked to Lincoln State Park the lady was very nice she said she thought it would almost be impossible for me to ride my mobility scooter from the RV Park to the theater. There is room for 1500 to park but she said while she can't be sure but she felt that will not be enough parking as there pone has been ringing non stop. So I think I will have to pass this no way I can stand in line for hours.
So those going enjoy am sure it will be a day to remember.

Well called anyway to make reservations but they are all filled up so that takes care of that decision no more pondering on that thought.

I am in for the adventure and festivities, booked a cabin to stay in and let the fun begin. I wanted to do this the 1st time but could not and decided to commit to this ceremony and the adventure it brings, 911.47 miles. I was told to expect ( from the phone calls to the park )at least 3500-5000 people....

GREAT NEWS!! It all finally came together. I just received a phone call from the Lincoln City Post Office. They will be staying open until 5pm on May 14th. I think it was the potential for massive stamp sales that did it. These rolls are really gonna be sweet..... Lincoln Cents with a Lincoln stamp with a Lincoln City post mark I better make room in my paypal account so ebay sales don't make it spill over.

Yea, I've been in contact with the postal lady (extremely nice lady) off and on since the event in KY. She called me today and told me our plan worked. Her higher-ups gave her the green light.
4000 people X 10 rolls each = 40,000 rolls
This little post office could make a killing on stamp sales if just a fraction of the people get this done.
Now we need to make sure the mint brings enough coin to satisfy multiple trips through line and some boxes at the end.
40,000 rolls X 2 trips through line each = 80,000 rolls and... 2 boxes each for the 100 people left hanging around that will want those = 10,000
This equals 90,000 rolls for the mint to bring. That's 1800 boxes. Sure hope THEY can pull it together.

Is it safe to say that after all this Post Office has done to change the hours of operation, that they will have the stamps for the masses, or do you think we could bring our own stamps and just get them stamped with the official Lincoln City P O seal?. I do not know if this is doable so I will check with my local P O ...

Hey MD, I'm playing it safe and getting my own. Man, I wish I could be there to meet you guys in person. To explain: I had back surgery in '02 and haven't walked since. Last year, after a small operation... I had to stay in bed for about 3 weeks... in which time I lost the strength in my legs. So I've been in bed for about 14 months. I'm now trying to get my muscles built back up so that I can at least get out of bed and into my chair. Hey... I'm not braggin' or complainin'... just explainin' So, I'm sending a few family members to pick them up for me. I'm really glad I found this place... y'all have been a great help! DRS
