I don't see any doubling on this cent in these pictures.
Did you check the reference sites to compare?

Not seeing any doubling. But don't give up. It's going to take time to learn about the varieties and errors. We've all been there before.

Darn nice looking cent. The glare can make all kinds of things appear when looking for errors on shiny coins. I agree with kurdlezuit and don't think it's a DDO. Keep looking.. Good luck and enjoy the hunt.

I had that happen on a proof Kennedy half. The reflection of the devices made them look thickened. I had to get the proper light and camera angle to separate the letters from the mirror field. I have had the same problem with ebay pictures that made coins look like doubled dies, only to see them in hand and realize it was bright metal, angled surfaces, and camera confusion.

One really good way to learn the coins themselves is to go to PCGS, view the image catalog for a variety, and zoom in (and out!) with their reference images for different varieties. The variety sites can be confusing with very well photographed features under magnification. PCGS TrueView will let you see a whole lot of coins under sub-optimal and more realistic lighting. It's much closer to what you will find in the field, because they are imaging the whole coin, not just the tiny features.

Dykil93,

Your 1st two pics look odd, why?
Best to always check all three ref sites for an attribution number and post that number in your thread.

Not seeing and DDO (yet) your images are a bit too dark.
