I had mentioned several times in previous posts that I was writing a book, well it is actually more of a catalogue on Australian Decimal Silver Coins and several of the members wanted me to post when it was ready
Well, after many years it is finally finished
It is called "THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE TO AUSTRALIAN DECIMAL SILVER COINS"
For anyone interested you can get a pdf copy from the LULU Bookstore & PayHip
At this stage there are no plans for a printed version as it is over 3,500 pages long (1 page per coin) Edited by mrcruise 02/03/2024 03:16 am

Well done mrcruise. Will you be adding new coins every year or just giving up like McDonald?

Thank you OzLeigh
New edition every year which will include all new Australian silver coins released during the previous year
I don't know the reasons why McDonalds does not include all new releases but I can say that I find it time consuming enough keeping up with silver coin releases - cataloging all releases would require a considerable amount of resources
Having said that if there is an overwhelming response to this book I would consider expanding the catalog to include gold, platinum, palladium and non-precious metal coin releases

Quote: Will you be adding new coins every year or just giving up like McDonald? Greg McDonald hasn't given up, he has been ill for a long time. However he is working on new catalogues. There is so much info now, that he has had to split it into multiple catalogues. I think his first catalogue has been released, it covers PNCs. More info on the ACF forum.

Looks good mrcruise That 2004 $1 Kangaroo happens to be one of the few silver NCLT coins I own. According to your page it's worth more than I paid for it.

Quote: Preview/Sample version also available at the following link: https://payhip.com/preview/Qq961 Thanks for the link to the pdf preview . Question arises as to the mintage of the 1993 Silver Kangaroo you have shown, my Renniks book states 77,852 continuous milling and 5,000 stop/start NAA Show. Is there a page on the 5,000 stop/start NAA Show coins and their value? Same question for the 1994 and 1995 NAA Show coins too mrcruise? The 2007 Frunc Silver Kangaroo has N/A mintage in my Renniks book so I sent the RAM an email to find out . It took 3 months and 3 wrong answers from them before a final figure was sent to me. I am very curious what your mintage is on this coin mrcruise. $30 is a great price for your work.

Hi crab eater As to the mintage for the 1993 Silver Kangaroo coin my mintage figure in catalog is derived directly from RAM Annual reports (see highlights in screenshots) [You can also see coin fair mintages in screenshot as well] Quote: Is there a page on the 5,000 stop/start NAA Show coins and their value? Same question for the 1994 and 1995 NAA Show coins too mrcruise? Yes all 1993-1995 Coin Fair Silver kangaroos are included in catalog - I have included a screenshot for 1993 coin fair coin below As for the The 2007 Frunc Silver Kangaroo coin the mintage figure I found in the RAM annual report (see screenshot) shows the mintage was 4,000 I hope the included information helps
