Hi everyone, I am a new member with VERY little knowledge of coins. I came across this site when I was researching a Wheat penny from my Grandpa. Turned out to be an ordinary penny with sentimental value. After looking through this site, I decided to join. So for entertainment purposes, I looked through the change in my car as my beginning, and this Sally Ride quarter stood out. Looks to be the kind of first quarter I would get!

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your tirst submission here. It's hard to tell what's happening with the quarter. Are those raised marks on her face or are they recessed?
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Looks like standard roadkill damage to me, only unusual in managing to avoid getting any major dints in the fields. It must have been a fairly smooth surface the coin was sitting on.

@ran, I'm glad to have you join us. As to this quarter, that is all damage and therefore you can safely spend this one.

In fact, I think I will frame her, like a new business frames their first $1 sale LOL!!! I am looking forward to my future "serious" submissions.

to the CCF Only costs .25 cents to keep. I've still have my first error coin that I found over 50 years ago.
