1957 D Wheat Penny - What Are These Marks Within The Date?

zdcoin_404 New Member United States 7 Posts	Posted 02/10/2024 2:18 pm Hello, I'm just getting into coin collecting. I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I have this 1957 D penny and noticed that there is what looks like almost two small circles or "drops" in the date - one in the circle of the 9 and the other within the 5. I tried to take as good of a photo of it through the loop. I'm just curious what this could be a result of - something interfering with the die? Any thoughts would be helpful! Thanks so much.
