*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

to the CCF, Stra1ghtG!
Since 1918, all Lincoln cents have VDB on Lincoln's shoulder. They are the initials of Victor David Brenner, who designed the coin.

To CCF! Hondo Boguss nailed it. As far as your coin goes, it's heavily circulated and shows PMD. It's only worth face value.

Would be interested in what OP once read to be made to believe this penny might be unique or rare. Or, if OP was trying to indicate something besides the initials.

Maybe he heard about the 2023 cents with the extra "V" next to the "VDB" initials?

It's VDB with a spot of corrosion at the top left of the D and some more obscuring the B.
