Found this in my friends jar of coins. Genuine 1982 D Small date copper penny. You easily see curve on bottom of 2cand weight is 3.2 grams Thoughts?

Small picture but looks like a Small Date, heavily Damaged though. The "2" is rather close to the rim so could be a large date after all.

Looks like the loops of the 8 are relatively the same size. On Small Date cents the top loop is smaller than the bottom loop. EDIT: Added visual..........

Would love to see a clear, sharp, close-in pic of the date. With the single image above, it appears there are circulation hits in the date, which may have reshaped the 2.

the shape says small date and the gap says large date - with the hits on the 2, I say it was altered by them. the small gap won't lie.. This is a large date.
