pretty coin. any MS Half Cent is rarer however they don't get the recognition they deserve. obv looks to be around MS62 area. reverse strike is very strong. i'd call the rev a solid MS64 from a strike perspective but the field discoloration and minor marks across it and on the rims would hold it to MS63. looks like a tiny bit of verdigris on the E in CENT. be careful if you decide to remove this as it most likely will alter what that area looks like. i think i'll put this one in the MS62+ box/ if it pulls a 63 then you got a good price. there are 5 varieties for this year. all of those have a nice premium so its probably worth looking into that. congrats on a nice pickup NS

AU55 sharpness - touch of wear - obverse has some possible issues left of bust at S1-S3. I am also not 100% sure the surfaces are original to the coin (color-wise, most notably)
My net grade would be 40 to 45 (EAC) depending on how it looks in hand

The original photos were deceptive. Color does not look natural.

Would be interested to know if this coin is raw or slabbed. Still at mid AU but the surfaces look "off." I want to have a peep at my Manley book when I get home.

I don't believe it's the same coin. Just compare the rims.
Edit: Although there are a few bag marks and spots that do match exactly, so it must be the same coin. Just crazy difference in lighting and photos.

Adding my thoughts to everyone else's. In my assessment, this is unquestionably an uncirculated coin. I don't see any trace of wear anywhere. However, I really dislike the mottling of pinpoint-sized marks in the reverse of the coin. That wasn't visible in the original photos. To me it is a severe eye appeal issue and I will send it back. Thanks for all of your comments and thoughts.
