Clearly a clash on this one, but I cannot get any of the letters to line up with overlays. don't think its the ADC-1C-1959D-02.

Looks like die gouges of some kind not a die clash.

I'm in with the clash, nice find! I knew I had seen this type of clash before and then remembered where. The upper pic is the OP's and the lower pic is from Error-Ref and they look to line up almost perfectly. Granted the one from Error-Ref is a 60-D but gets the point across. Vertical Misaligned Die Clash.

Well, that would make sense. 1960 in Denver seems to have produced a huge amount of that specific clash type on cents. It wouldn't be surprising that they were already having problems in 1959, the first year for the new LMC.
