So I grabbed this at auction being fairly confident of an RPM based on images. Received today and D/D is confirmed (NGC VP-003, PCGS does not attribute). All markers check out.

Question becomes is crossover and attribution worth the spend. There is literally no sales data available - at least from what I could find - and the census on NGC has 7 total attributions, 2 at 66. Does this generally imply a lack of interest or a rarity?

*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

The question that immediately occurs to me is: how old is the NGC attribution? If it's very recent, that could be a newly popular RPM working its way towards a CPG guide number and eventually a PCGS attribution. Might be better just to keep it in the PCGS slab for a few years and see what happens.

Are you planning on flipping the coin? If not, then why spend money to change TPG when it already has a favorable grade in a top-tier slab? If you plan to keep it, you already know what it is.

Haha, good catch Dearborn - 1942-D. I bought a 39-D too just mixed them up. CoinFrog - could you fix my title error please. Yes, 66 https://www.pcgs.com/cert/48052165

John1 - Wex is WRPM-002, Conneca is RPM-003, NGC is VP-003

BM - Have no idea how old the attribution is, nor how to research that specific data point.

I thought I read an article where NGC listed the new attributions for some year, but I am having trouble finding it. I will try again after dinner.
