*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

So if you zoom in on the photo, you'll see the blowout I was referring to at the date. Denver minted 68 or 69 for obvious reasons. I'm still learning the photo optimizer to reduce the pixelation. This site is not new user friendly, at least for me anyway. Will try to attach the back of nickel photo.Well now the optimizer site want to charge me for a subscription for reducing the pixelation of my photos. So no pictures of the back of coin. For now anyway..I've given myself a pounding headache trying to maneuver through this unbelievably frustrating website. Doing my old ladies taxes this year was a cakewalk compared to this nightmare hellscape.

Just use the crop function in your photo app. For resizing, I use the free Image Size app. It is way, way less complicated than Pixlr, unlimited, and free (with ads).

Looks like someone tried to drill a hole in this coin.

Jhill2112,

Posting photos can be difficult for a lot of members. Try using your own photo fixer and make sure to crop photos so all we see is the coin. IMHO,your coin is not an error it is PMD.

@jay, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes this picture shows your nickel quite well. The last digit of the date is damaged though--not a mint error.

to the CCF

This is a damaged coin, not a mint error. Value is 5 cents.

Yes, post-strike damage. And yes, navigating this site isn't terribly intuitive and/or efficient for newcomers.

It sure looks like a massive hit to the date to me. What does the reverse look like? Is it bulged up?
