Searching online I think this is considered a MAD (Misaligned Die strike) but it might just be damage from the coin rolling. I thought the bubbles were interesting too. Any thoughts on what happened to the rim on the obverse?

Yes that plus the usual light strike on STATES OF on the reverse. I can't tell if the bubbles are plating bubbles or drops of a foreign substance on the surface of this cent.

Looks like it also has planchet roller lines, possibly leading to some separation of the plating and the underlying zinc.

What date coin are you talking about? The title reads 1983 and the coin shown is 1986 and can't tell if it has a D mint mark or not.

to the CCF and Ridge Ring. I think the spots on the obverse are from the cooling agent the mint uses. I see them on all years and mm of zincolns.

I did not fix the title not knowing if it is a Denver mint or if it is the intended (date) coin.

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone and the detailed information provided. Sorry for the worst first post ever with the wrong date but it looks like it got fixed Ive been seeing my fair share of these and definitely on the zincolns. Its so cool to confirm what we read online with people with lots of experience! Thank you
