The rim is the concern. This coin is incredible. How much does the rim affect the grade?

Your photos make the coin appear to be plated. is it really that reflective in hand?

Nice coin! I'd say MS-65 or better.

Those rim dings are distracting. I do not know if it effects the technical grade.Looks like a nice EDS coin.

Tried to catch the grimiest view. Hard to get a good angle that shows it other than the pics here and the ones I've posted thus far. Thanks for looking.

The angle shots help a bit to see the surface detail which looks spectacular! The water marks should not effect grade. The rim marks do but they seem minor, albeit multiple.

I would put this in the Gem category for sure. Not ms68 money IMO so probably not worth the chance at grading fees.

Honestly tho, grading at this level above high choice grade is so difficult and I am not a seasoned grader of moderns.

Did you pull it from a mint set?

@captainkurt

Yes, I did pull it from a mint set. I have 10 sets from 2000 and there were many coins that are cherry. I'm picking out the best to take a better look at. The quarters are the last, and I have 4 others that are just about as beautiful as this one. 2x Virginia Ps, a Maryland P, and one more New Hampshire D.

I do the same thing for my modern collection. We should trade when you have the appropriate number of posts. Check out my listing in the trading forum on this site. link below. I have many duplicates of quality choice+ moderns and many other series.
