Or possibly spooned. The edge seems to show a lot of small whacks.

A so-called Dryer Coin. Not an error,PMD mechanically damaged with some type of roller/rolling device.

Spooned, hammered, Dryer Coin - take your pick but it is just a damaged cent.

I'm very sorry, but the rim of this coin has no damage to it. It's completely smooth? It does not look like a Dryer Coin. What is a spoon coin?

Take a closer look at Lincoln's bust... it has scrapes/damage... as does the rim. Additionally the rim has been pushed in toward the center of the coin, you can see it best near "in god we trust" as the letters appear closer to the rim. It may not appear to you to be a so-called Dryer Coin because the examples on the Dryer Coin link display more extreme examples. Your coin may not have been stuck in a washer or dryer for a long enough time to be damaged further than it is. Alternatively, as Marve65, John1, and others pointed out, there are many possible ways in which this type of post mint damage can occur. I agree with others... this is PMD of the Dryer Coin / spooned type.

Spooning a coin is a way to make a ring out of one. A cent is kind of small for it though.
