Interesting coin. It looks like a die polishing issue to me.

I have a few regular issue Sacagawea coins with the pupil polished away and another with Feeder Finger Damage across the same eye and just behind her head on the same side. They're all from the same roll, but I don't remember the year. I haven't seen a proof version with an over polished die.

Anyone have a similar they can post? Proof or business?

Did they still issue business strikes of these in 2009 or were they NIFC by then? With all the Presidents flooding the scene I guess I didn't notice.

Wish they had stayed with the same design for the "Native" [early arrivals]. And before the trolls come out, I had a Cherokee grandmother].
