I have been coin hunting on and off for a year. I have looked through 20 boxes+ for wheat cents but only about 5 for errors. I am curious if I am just unlucky as I haven't found anything that people on here seem to find. Maybe I just don't have "the eye" yet. Anyway I was hoping y'all could post your best coin roll finds below to see what people are finding.

I've been roll searching across several decades--occasional boxes, but mostly a mix of commercially-wrapped and customer-wrapped rolls. Thousands and thousands and thousands of rolls. Through all that I've only come across several hundred wheat cents, a few Indian Head cents, a very modest amount of silver, a few dozen 1938 and 1939 D and S nickels, a few dozen wartime nickels, and one major error on a quarter. One major error. One.

While significant finds are possible, they are very, very, very scarce. Your experience is probably typical. Contrary to what some may be claiming, there aren't mountains of rarities floating about in circulation.

The key is patience, time, and the volume of coins searched.

You can search for years and not come up with anything then bang you will find some thing. Also if searching for errors you will need a good magnifying system to see them.

Most of all be persistent - that "great find" may be in the next roll.
