Hi, I recently ran into this coin in a very back ally market stall in the Middle East. After doing some research I am fairly sure this coin is not that valuable, but at the same time I did find some listed on auctions for a lot of money. I recorded a short video of the coin.

Could any experts take a look at this at let me know if this is worth anything or not? I do see that is says CC under the eagle, and I found that means Carson City mint. The main concerning item is that I found a listed on Etsy for $20 for a coin very similar, but the double strike is not exactly the same, but makes me think this is likely of similar value.

Thanks!

, this is the best spot to ask us!

What you have there is a complete Chinese counterfeit as there are no known genuine coins that look like that.
There are many junky coins being sold out there that have absolutely no merit whatsoever from all sorts of people trying to make a buck on the gullible that don't realize they are buying worthless junk such as what you are showing us.

Just tell the folks selling this fake (for 1000 dollars! ) that it is completely worthless and from China, not from the Carson City mintmark and definitely not from the year 1870 at that. Scary NOT-coin there!

Lots of folk here on the CCF will pretty much tell you the same info, probably add some things or two that I missed, as I am just as human as you and the rest of us here. Just trying to save people from getting burned by fake coins which are literally a dime a dozen these days.

The Chinese site has Morgan and Draped Bust dollars with the same "error", priced less than $2. Some of them do say "copy" but it's obviously just a watermark on the images and not on the coins. Pretending that they don't violate the Hobby Protection Act I suppose.
