I know little to nothing about grading coins. I do feel like this would make MS with no problem but also know it would have to be 68 to even be worthwhile having it slabbed. There are some very light scratches and some carbon spots but has a nice strike. What would you think this would come in at? -makecents-

Slight wear on the high points on Lincolns profile and the scratches would make AU55 seem right.

That is a wide variance. With my very limited experience with coin grade, I was thinking in the MS62 to 64 range, so I'll just split the difference and take a just inside MS grade. ! Thanks for the replies!

I'll say AU. I think I can see some light circulation rub.

Thanks, everyone for your input and opening my eyes to what something actually grades. I mostly bank roll search, so it looks MUCH better than what I'm used to seeing and probably had my ideas of grade skewed somewhat.

AU58+ for me. Decent album hole filler until better comes along.

You can see signs of circulation. The obverse fields and the rim stand out. There also looks to be rub on the temple, cheek and lapel. Surprisingly, the photos make the reverse look mint state. The memorial is very nice, almost no hits, nice columns and the cornice doesn't show wear. Nonetheless, the obverse tells a story.
