There were no Lincoln proofs, or any other U.S. proofs, struck in 1944. It is a polished business strike.

Yes, not a proof. Appears to have been cleaned long ago and is showing signs of 're-toning'. I'd keep it as a fun curiosity.

The mint made proof coins from 1936 to 1942 then stopped until 1950 when they resumed them again.
