1981 P Quarter Struck On Nickel Planchet Off-Metal Error

The one ding going through the "8" is probably why this didn't grade higher. This has a very similar look to Tropicalbats 1973 D off-metal error but with opposite north/south distortion. tropicalbats Pillar of the Community United States 6108 Posts	Posted 03/25/2024 9:52 pm A beauty! I really like the toning on yours, and seriously, how does that come off as only a 64. The light ding on the 8 isn't even close to dropping it a grade. But I have found that TPGs are pretty tough on error coins and hard to get really high grades on some of them.
