Here is one of my recent finds. This coin was graded by U.S. Rare Coin Certification & Trading Co. I have some questions as I am only familiar with modern PCGS, NGC, etc. Were they accurate with their grades? Any value in old holder? What grade would you assign this coin? I am still learning how to grade these older gold coins. Appreciate any info and insight into this coin. Thank you in advance for your help.

I'll run this question by my brother. He collects all types of old holders from every company imaginable. He may have one of those in his collection. I will let you know.

Thank you. Any information would be helpful. Figured posting on here would be my best bet in hopes someone knew about this company and their standards.

A (not allowed) website says they're an out of business 1980s "grading" company. They apparently used U as uncirculated and 63.5 is an odd grade - is that like a 63+? The "guarantee" on the back is a little amusing, basically saying they'll sell it for you for a fee. Maybe the quirky slab has some value to somebody. Personally I wouldn't trust their grading.

Regardless of the holder I love the coin. Nice specimen and it appears to be properly graded as a 63 plus.

The grade looks accurate. Some people collect different Third Party Graders. Before breaking out, try the PCGS forums, I know several on there collect these old slabs.
