Would anyone here have a guess what an 1865 Newf one cent with the 6 well-offset doubled be worth in VF-20? Just found after puting away 7-8 years ago. It was one a Griffin's coins that I got at a Hoare auction.

I have no camera, nor a cell phone. Waiting for an image will be long-lasting. There are no prices anywhere listed for the variety in ANY condition. There are a couple on ebay, cert'd, UNC from $4-6,000. I just thought someone from here might just know or an educated guess. It's so scarce/rare that there are no prices in ANY condition from any of the coin or TPG sites, but it may be that there just aren't many cert'd or sold on ebay in less than UNC..

I do not think they are very scarce. Not sure if this is from the same reverse die. It has all four digits of the date re-punched, the last three with significant offset. Sorry, I don't have any close ups.

If you go to the CaC price guide, the photo of the 6/6 is there. You can see a large offset at the upper left top of the 6, as well as inside right bottom inside the loop. Your pic kinda looks like the R/P'd 6 upper left, but can't see inside. Thanks, Rob. I've come to the realiczation that it's not rare, just that very few have been cert'd except for 63-65's. It's still a neat anomoly.

My coin is in the bank vault, but I think it likely the same die.

I might be confused but it seems like 10 out of 13 of these in Heritage archives with good enough images are 6/6 of some kind and the other 3 I can't decide. Prices are all over the place.
