The only glaring problem I see is the 1880 with the graffiti. ~$20/coin is a great buy - melt value is $19.29 currently.

So you paid about $20/coin, that is a great buy. Even in cull condition they seem to go for over $25 each, and some of yours are very nice so worth more. Score!

As long that they are not fakes I'm happy. I know almost nothing on the topic. il try to reshoot the last 2 if there is interest

Looks like you got a good deal on the lot. Some have issues but overall appear better than typical silver dollar lots.

Looks like a great set for the price. You can post them individually in the grading area if you want opinion on grades. A few look quite nice.

Great pickup for $200. If you get the bug, you can get an album, commence to building a set, and update the grades along the way.

Really nice start to a silver dollar collection. I started the same way with a handful of dollars 10 years ago. I now have over 530 Morgan and Peace dollars. It gets addictive.

I will try that, extracts from the photobomb horde. For me the nicer ones look al the same, the 1889 one that was cleaned I didnt notice before it was pointed out. Quick learning curve in the beginning, often the hard way :D

Thank you, I might have contracted silver fever. They are things of beauty, can only hope to assemble a collection of those number. They are harder to find in Europe

Moniker,
If you are going to get new holders, you might want to take photos of the coins out of the holders and post them one by one in the grading section.Make sure to flatten the staples.

Mistakes were made, blood was shed, fair warning. Hard stapples! the hardplastic ones are tougher, hard to get the coins out without breaking the holder :D

I love the coins! For simplicity sake, you are free to leave them as-is. The coins looks to be in great condition.

Just a couple of rules. If you do remove them from the holders, be sure to handle the coins by the edge. That way you keep oils and wear from the front and back of the coin. Second, do not clean any of the coins. That includes wiping, scrubbing, or dipping in any way. Like others have mentioned, Acetone is safe but unnecessary in this situation.

Looks like you did well, and congrats on the buy!

thank you for good advice. I have ordered new holders from Leuchtturm so I can handle them, and I will stick to the edges.

Not a bad buy at all for the price you paid out.. Maybe you can get a Dansco album and place them in it - then finish it up with more.

Time for a quick recap to my introduction to coin collecting.

Its been a fun ride finding out more aboit my spontaneous purchase. I was fairly lucky considering I didnt pay a lot more than the silver value. All coins was of common mintage so no lucky finds

Big shootout to all members for taking the time explaining and helping me find out more about coins

The photobomb horde consisted of 10 morgans and a peacedollar.
Of these 2 fall in the ms range ans atleast 4 in au range #128515;

But most fun has been learning more

I can't resist posting a few
