I've seen many posts and ebay auction for doubled die ( DDO) Lincoln Shield Cents. It appears to me that the doubling is weak/minor and requires magnification to really see the doubling. I'm curious what the experts here believe is the strongest true doubling (vs Machine Doubling) that can be found on a Lincoln Shield cent (by date and mint mark). Thoughts?

2014 P DDO-001 would be my candidate for sheild cents. But that is just my noob opinion.

I would also add, probably 90% or more, of the shield "doubled dies", listed on the bay, are not doubled dies. Most of the doubling on there is a mix of MD, lighting issues and Die Deterioration.

I've been looking through my already uploaded pics to see what other decent shield doubled dies I have. Here are a few more. It would not upload several of them, so just these for now. cc's 2012P-1DO-003. Wexler's 2015-1¢-WDDR-006 Unlisted 2015P DDR 2013P WDDR-003 2023P 1DR-001 and 2023P WDDR-001

I found a few more of the stronger, more distorted ones I had filed away. I didn't take them out of the 2x2's, so not the best of pictures. 2011P-1DO-004 2011P-DDR-001 2013P-1DR-002 2015P-1c-WDDO-014

@-makecents- Those are amazing! You've singlehandedly made me interested in sheild cents. I have a lot of catching up to do lol.

Makecents showed quite a few nice examples that are easy to see, with the naked eye.
Errers and Varietys.

I've come to believe that Hidalgo has other skillsets outside of coins and would advise you steer clear of contact.

Thanks for all those references MakeCents! I will get around to checking all my late model Sheild Cents soon enough and I've bookmarked this post.

Thank you to all for sharing your expertise. Thank you smallcents for sharing your photos.
I have most of the major Lincoln doubled dies: 1955-P, 1972-P, 1983-P, 1984-P, and 1995-P.. The 1936-P and 1969-S doubled dies are out of my reach price-wise. I'm exploring the addition of minor Lincoln doubled dies, and there are so many of them! So it's a matter of deciding which ones are the best to add to my collection. The information you shared is much appreciated.
