Hello,

I am not sure if this could be old money or just some kind of pendant. Does anyone have any ideas on this one? It is 1.5" length, 1" width, and 1/4" thick. Weight is 1.285 oz. Thank you!

@rma, I don't believe that this is money, but rather a pendant or perhaps a charm. My go-to website for Chinese charms is primaltrek, and here is a link to their page on fish charms:

https://primaltrek.com/fish.html

Yours is not close to either of those, and coupled with the hole in the tail, I suspect you have a pendant. The impressed mark on the reverse is likely going to be one or two Chinese characters.

Thanks, Spence. That really helps. Any ballpark idea how old this may be?

Sorry but I have zero idea on age. It isn't a coin though--@nfine's guess of it being a fishing sinker is as good of an idea as any. I'm going to move this thread over to the exonumia section though.
