Small date and the odds are roughly 3 billion to 1 that it's zinc.

If the weight is 2.5 is it the zinc? That's preferable?

You would want a 1982-D small date LMC to weigh 3.1 grams, then it would be on a copper planchet. (Very, Very rare) Zinc version (2.5 grams) would be worth 1 cent.

I'm waiting on my scale to get here. It doesn't feel heavy like older pennies but I could be wrong, I'll post weight as soon as I get scale1 Thank you everyone for confirming it's a small date
