He remembers there being a lot more luster on the reverse but environmental exposure has dulled it over time. It was in a dollar flip so maybe too much air exposure in there or something. I have a '1979 (P) Washington as a Red Head Quater' around here somewhere. You can see a thumbnail image of mine in my signature file. These are always an eye catcher, especially when uncirculated. I saw a post some where recently where the person posted their 48th Washington quarter with a missing clad layer in their set. All had been slabbed by NGC.
