Dirt find that just got out of Acetone. Comparing to PCGS FBL samples I say this might have a chance. Or will the small hit west of the crack kill that chance?

*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

hard to tell how much wear is on this one due to toning and crud. to me the coin looks XF45

FBL is only assigned on MS coins

a 54FBL coin would need to be MS66 before considering professional grading.

thx panzaldi, not considering grading. just interested on whether anyone thinks this would pass muster for FBL. More educational I guess.

FBL only applies to MS Franklin halves. Even if it applied to your circulated half, the flat spot to the left of the bell crack is enough to disqualify it.

DOCC, FBL is like FS on a jefferson. you never know 100% what a TPG will say. if this coin was MS it would not be FBL if thats what you are asking

Ya Panzaldi, I know the requirement is MS and this example falls short of that. Just trying to gauge the FBL visual - TPGs are all over the place.
