I just purchased this morgan due to the way the mint mark looks.

It's looks as if it's laying g on its side and not straight up and down like a normal mint mark from New Orleans.

The silver, clean looking morgan in the photos is what the mint mark should look like and placement.

TOP LEFT in collage is the normal o mint mark for the 1899-o. TOP LEFT is the micro o and the 2 bottom pictures in the collage are my coin that I purchased.

Yours appears to be a standard medium-O mint mark. Look at the "high O" varieties to help pin down the exact VAM.

Medium O tilted right looks like it could be VAM 10, 10a, 10b, 18, 18a or 27.
