I hate to ask this. But I feel like an idiot because I am still learning. Why do all of these wheat pennies look like DDO? Is it just because they are older? Or are they really DDO? I don't understand why these dates and letters are much thicker than what I am seeing online. For these dates. Thank you in advance for your help and explanation. I know I have so much to learn. But right now, I feel like I have to go to school to understand and pick up coin collecting as a hobby with my son.

@dol, best practice is to only show one coin per thread so that we can give each one the attention it deserves. With that said, all of your coins seem to have thicker letters due to circulation flattening. I would recommend checking out a site like varietyvista to help learn what a doubled die looks like.

Thank you Spence! I have look at varityvista. And I'm still seeing smaller letters and numbers. I just ordered the latest Red Book. It won't come in until May. 1. But I hope that will help me distinguish between circulation flattening and DD. I appreciate the feedback!

Thick looking devices--letters, numbers--do not always mean a doubled die issue. Much circulation can result in circulation flattening, which can cause letters and numbers to appear 'fatter' than one would expect.

dolphin333m,
to you and your son.
In future posts please do not post photos of your scopes screen, use a memory card in it.
I agree all of the posted coins look like circulation flattening and not a doubled die.Go to all three reference sites and study them before you look for errors or varieties. You need to know what to look for before you hunt: http://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php

varietyvista.com
Good luck and have fun!
I moved your thread to the proper section of the forum.

I'm just seeing circulation flattening on these coins, however, RedBook will no help you much with error coins just current (at time of printing) values of coins.

Nice that you and your son share collecting as a hobby. Sometimes all of this can be overwhelming. There's so much to learn. I and most others, even with 50 years in this are still learning. The best advice I can give is to study, search, and read. This site has a lot of resources to study. When I started in the late 60s, if you found something you had to wait for the monthly meeting of the coin club to find out what it was. Hang in, you'll get there.
