On ebay, if a listing states Priority mail 2-3 day delivery and it is mailed first class and arrives in 5 dyas, does that make a difference to you? I suppose if you are waiting for it as a gift for a party that happens in 3 days it might, but does it other wise?

My feeling is, if it states Priority mail, then I am paying for that service when I bid and if I am paying for that service I should get it.

sorry, just being a grump today.

Well, if it doesn't give you a cheaper option and the seller actually ships it through a cheaper option, you can file a complaint.

Yeah absolutely...if it states that they will ship Priority, and you get charged accordingly, then the seller should ship Priority. It could be an honest mistake, but if the seller isn't willing to fix the problem (i.e. refund the difference) then you should nail them on the detailed seller ratings for shipping cost, and you have every right to post a negative or neutral feedback.

ebay is full of stuff like this and I'd hit them on the DSR.

My last ebay purchase took 3 1/2 weeks to be delivered and I went through the PayPal "Item Not Delivered" fiasco before I got it. The seller and I had a few choice words back and forth but I did get the coin.

Needless to say the DSR and negative feedback (left before delivery) did NOT make him happy and I was threatened via e-mail. I'm done with ebay for a long while.........

Absolutely, it matters. There is usually a significant price difference between Priority Mail and First Class or Media Mail- if you pay for it, that is how it should arrive and anything else is just unacceptable.

I totally agree. You should get what you pay for.

There have been auctions where the shipping has been excessive. While I have sometimes still gone ahead because I really wanted the coin I have sent a message to the seller stating that I expect to see the shipping cost equate to what they were charging or I would grade them accordingly.

A couple have reduced the shipping cost for me.

I have no problem paying for packaging and even their time but it should be reasonable, and it should certainly be by the method paid for.

You should get what you pay for. I could be an honest mistake on the seller's part but if you pay for priority that is what you should expect and that is what you should receive. I would ask for a refund.....but that is just me. If I make a mistake as a seller on ebay I will make it right.
