The only change I want to see is a lowering of fees....

With the last banknote I sold, I sold it for less than exchange... and then ebay took $1.42 of the $6.~ final price.

The slant seems to be about keeping the buyers happy. There isn't enough about keeping sellers happy- one way would be to lower the fees.

Don't make me no never mind - in spite of having been active on ebay since August, 1997, I quit buying on ebay in January because of their insistence on PayPal being the only medium of payment. When they get off their golden pony about that, I might come back.

That was the one that stopped me from buying. I still look at forum Mom's auctions, but don't even bother to look at anything else on ebay anymore.

I found out that you can still use money orders, as long as the seller accepts them (you have to ask the seller before the auction is over). The seller can not actively suggest that money orders are accepted anywhere in their listing, but if a buyer sends them a private message asking if it's ok, and the seller is ok with it, then it is allowed. At least that's how I understand it.

Yes, you can read between the lines to figure out which dealers to ask so as not to waste time. A number of dealers took my checks, too. A few even took a look at my feedback and mailed me the item BEFORE they had received payment (okay, that's been a while back!). But obviously, Toto, we're not in garage sale land any more on ebay since the proprietors (of ebay) figured out how to suck big bucks out of both buyers and sellers. That's why I'm no longer on ebay. They got too greedy.

Seems to be geared mostly towards volume guys selling commodity items... seeing zero benefit for the stuff I buy and sell *shrug*

I think there are still some great deals to be had as a buyer. I got bids in on 7 items right now. But as a seller, the fees are getting to be too much....it is almost not worth it as a seller. I've been a seller and buyer....right now I think ebay has placed the buyer with the advantage.
