1967 Quarter Reverse Damage ?

I got this in a bag of random coins. It was from the same baggie as the nickel I posted up. I think I can see the grind marks in the three o clock area and the hammer marks in the 6 to 12 area. But how did they make the raised copper ridges ? Oh, and that bag came with 15 other damaged coins.

A clearer pic of the reverse would be great and maybe closeups of the rim of the coin where it's copper looking.
