Earlier this month, the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) proposed designs for the Obverse of the 2025 American Liberty Gold Coin and Silver Medal program.

This is my personal favorite:

What are your thoughts on these other proposed designs?

My favorites are AML-12-O-24C and AML-11-O-20-M. Part of me also likes AML-03-O-06-M and AML-03-O-05-M, which are certainly modern and unconventional (as is the point of this program).

I am glad I am not alone here. I really want to see what they look like as actual coins. I hope I do no regret it.

, " the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee "

The Designs Shown, In My Opinion Leave Much to be Desired...........

Imagine, if You will, A Committee that Takes in Proposals for Our American Coinage!!!!!!!

Then they Recommend to Us, The Candidates?

When did The " CCAC " Begin, How did We Ever survive without Them. The By-gone Days of U S Classic Coin Designs are Just that, Classic and Gone-Bye. Sad.............

Looks like the CCAC has been around for just over 20 years. I had been thinking that they provided input or guidance as to which designs to adopt rather than commissioning specific designs though. Maybe someone here on CCF has a better understanding?

"Designs for the American Liberty coins are submitted to the US Mint via the Artistic Infusion Program" -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ameri...ef_gold_coin

"The Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) is a program of the United States Mint, established in 2003, which invites American artists to create designs for U.S. coins and medals, most notably the 50 State, DC and US Territories, and America the Beautiful Quarters. The goal of the AIP is to enrich and diversify the design of United States coins and medals by contracting a collection of artists with varying artistic skills and talents." -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artis...sion_Program

US Mint press release about the latest artists in the program: https://www.usmint.gov/news/press-r...sion-program

So I'm gathering that these candidates are what the artists provided, which is what they were tasked to do. Yes, some are beautiful and others have no business being on a coin. After that, it's the committee's job to make recommendations which the Mint may or may not agree to accept.
