I like the raw one slightly better, because a tiny bit more detail in the bands than the graded one. The marks/nicks rim bumps are not that noticeable and by the time you sell this puppy, it should have appreciated nicely anyway. Take the raw one.

There's a lot of good advice here, but you need to consider that if you buy the slabbed one & crack it out it instantly becomes a raw coin. There is no guarantee that it won't BB just because it was slabbed before, & any premium associated with it being slabbed is also gone.

I agree, I'm leaning towards the raw too but I'm concerned about the green spots I see on the coin. I feel its verdigris.

If there was any possibility that the coin had verdigris I'd pass. I don't know if that means I'd buy the slabbed example or keep looking.

This has been an interesting read.
I only have two things to add: 1. There are a whole lot of 21-D fish in the big, blue sea. I'm not sure why you're limiting yourself to these two. 2. Be very, very sure you are happy with the coin before buying it. Why? Because whenever you or any other collector looks at your album, they'll be checking out the 21, 21D and the 16D. Not much time will be spent musing over your 45-P....... Sad, but true.

The raw coin at $50 less is the way to go.

I like the Raw one better.the Dark background gives the appearance and illusion of more details even thou the details are almost identical on both coins.I'm sure you'll be happy with either one. Pat

Personally I would go with the Graded Coin, only becasue then you can be sure that it is a quality coin.

I finally went with the F12. The turning point was seeing verdigris on the coin. Next is the 16D.
Thank you for all the advice and opinions.
