lol no kidding I was just wondering why it was that color I have quite a few Pennie's but none this dark red.&

Environmental damage caused it to tone like that. Maybe it was outside or buried at one time.

environmental toning - copper can take on many different colors depending he environment it was in. but in that image it looks more brown-ish to me.
