Looks like someone tried to use it as a screwdriver, twisting the metal on the face of each rim over to the edge. PMD, none the less.

I'm going to hold on to it never the less, but I turned it different angles & still couldn't find where that metal came from. The drag is not continuous to the extra metal

I do not understand what you mean, you can easily see where it came from in your 3rd pic, nice job on the pics, by the way. You can easily see the extra metal came from the face of the rim, plowing it onto the side of the coin. Very simple PMD. Loss of metal on the rim, pushed to the edge of the coin, "the third side".
