Hey guys was this coin struck thru grease on the obverse side? The reverse seems to be in pretty good condition.

The obverse may have been exposed to a corrosive environment. Too, circulation wear has contributed to loss of detail.

Yes hard to say with this much circulation. You might make an argument for the last letter of TRUST being almost completely missing, but overall I think that the weak details on the obverse are due to wear and tear over the last 101 years.

Agree, basically just wear on a coin struck from a worn die.
