I believe I can see a faint roof-to-building/memorial connection (on the right) in the 2nd photo. Also seems to be a faint trace of the initials in the 2nd photo as well. Would love to examine this coin in-hand (but that won't be happening).

@ijn, thanks for the feedback! Yes, there is a very slight line on the right of the roof, however, it fades out before making contact with the pillar section. And my full penny image of the reverse does seem to show a shadow in the pic, but there doesn't appear to be anything there under the microscope.

I might try to take better pics if you think it's worth it. I have 2 of these (of various degrees of circulation wear) that I found in the same roll of pennies, and a third that I found in my bin of random old pennies I happen upon. Are these too rare to have stumbled upon three of them?

yeah floating roof is a gimmick thing created to inflate the price of a very common "Over Polished Die" event found on Lincoln Cents.
No real numismatic value added. But in the sense of the term, there should be no sign of vertical bars showing, even tho it's just a made-up
term. I probably have 50 of these on 1969 & 1970 Lincolns.

I also see a slight upright to the roof, and a bit of the FG too - This is the result of an over polished die.

The "floating roof" is commonly found on cents of this year, no added value.

The "floating roof" term is what I personally call an ebay fad term. ebay shysters are always on the lookout to hype up something insignificant on a coin to sucker someone out of their money.

If one of these ebay fad terms gets enough attention, the slabbing companies may pick up on it and, for awhile, seem to add legitimacy to the fad coin.

However, over time, these lose value as more people realize this is just a die polishing issue, it happens to likely most coin dies, it is not an uncommon thing to find on pennies, and so the coins lose value.

One of the first coins like this was in 2005 when the ebay fad coin called the 2005 detached leg Buffalo nickel hit the market. Way too many people paid hundreds for this hyped up die polishing example. It was not surprise for people who understand how coins and how dies are made, that this alleged rare item was found from many stes of dies at the different mints as opposed to a siingle die that produced the 1937-D 3 leg buffalo. Hype cost people an awful lot of money.

Nowadays an MS70 detached leg can bring a premium, but nowhere near what they were selling for, and it is b/c most people likely are after the ink on the slab's label for their online registry sets. I also noted sometime last year that PCGS does not have a separate page anymore for these on their COINfacts pages, but lumps them in with regular issue coins.
