So I saw the nice coin red raider showed and felt a need, while not after something so expensive or rare I maybe start small. Im trying to get atleast one decent example of the us circulation coins from 1900 to 2000. A buffalo is allready otw This is up for sale near me, is it a ok indian head? Is this an au or you see any problems with it? I know its not a rare coin, and it isn't showing much red. Is there something going on inside the 9? looks like a B or a 8? Sadly all the pics I got, Thankful for pointers

Old cleaning, perhaps, as shown by the lingering "crud" around ONE CENT.

Quote: Is there something going on inside the 9? looks like a B or a 8? It does indeed look like a perfect little 'B' (or actually I see a '3') inside the 9. Really funny wish we could see a closeup.

Thank you all, so about au but cleaned, these are harder to see marks on than silver for me, I see the area around one cent letters, darker areas Quote:

Agree, the texture seems odd.

I think it is an uncirculated, original MS-63 BN. Texture and color appears very natural for a woody, although some may be deceived by the lighting that makes the coin appear look strange.

The "grainy" look might be present on the coin or poor quality photo. Coin looks good to me, but is risky based on those photos.
