I believe this is in better condition then the grade that was given when I bought it. Like to hear what you think.

Tricky one because you don't see a lot of these. I am having to compare it to the 3 that I have which are all XF+ I would grade this probably VF20 The coin has many areas which are better than VF for example the shield details are closer to XF however the motto is awful and would be more commonly seen in F grades. The closest at HA that I have been able to find is this https://coins.ha.com/itm/two-cent-p...tion-071515#Whilst this is the rarer small motto they are very comparable in wear In the HA case, the motto is much clearer but the shield details are quite worn Because in general, graders prefer a motto to other details this may slip to say F15 so high F, low VF is the range in my opinion. Hope that helps

I was hoping for VF. I wasn't sure if the motto is wear or not. I see an 1865 in an auction listed as "almost uncirculated" with a faded motto as well (but different area). Here it is.

I'll stick with F-12, likely a details coin (cleaned, ED). Not a fan.

On these specifically the weak strikes can have the WE be very bad... My concern is the T and the R in trust look clearly worn and not just a weak strike. Also that one you have there is would not grade AU in my opinion. my XF is significantly better in every day That would grade VF I think.

Looks VF-25 to me. Possible environmental damage if the green can't be removed safely.

Grade aside, this coin suffers from significant environmental damage.

Quote: how do you remove the green safely? Start with a pure Acetone soak - 48 to 72 hours. Post after pics and next steps can be suggested.

And for what its worth, I'm mid to high VF. Weak Mottos are a thing with this series. Just my .02

I'll go with VF, possibly details.
Errers and Varietys.

i'd put it at VF details. (ED) the coin was improperly stored for quite a long time
acetone probably is not going to do much as the coin already looks cleaned and it appears that any organic matter has already been removed. it may reduce the remaining verdigris and PVC damage a little but the only way to mitigate it is to soak it in verdicare. it may not remove it all but it would stop the progression and stabilize the coin
