Took my daughter to the bank to try and finish her State Quarter book. This was my first time roll hunting as I am relatively new to CCF. I know this was a very modest search but we had fun nonetheless. Our credit union has a free change counting machine so we exchanged heavily circulated coins we had been saving to fund the hunt. 1 roll of halves 1 roll of quarters 1 roll of dimes 1 roll of nickels The dimes were a dud. NIckels I found 2 pre 65 (non silver) one is a 39 with some doubling quarters my daughter got 2 territories and 2 states she needed plus a bicentennial. She is 2 states and 2 territories away from completing her book. Halves I found 1 very shiny relatively unmarked 2001 D. Looks like a mid MS at least. She is getting a bath in acetone for a little white spot but I will post a picture soon.

Congratulations. Definitely sounds like a good time with memories that will last a lifetime.

That is a good way to bond, so with the above... You might have found the elusive 1939 DDR nickel but we may need pictures to help best

Went back to the bank for the remaining $55 in halves. No silver. maybe 10 coins that might be BU. I will try some more nickel and dime rolls soon.
I will past a picture of the 39 from the nickel roll soon.

Congrats and thank you for bringing your daughter into this wonderful hobby. Keep the 39 Jeff and start a set with her. The Jeff set is one of the easier sets to complete. Upgrade as you go.

That is very cool that you and your daughter are completing coin sets, that is awesome. I would keep that 1939 nickel and the 2001-D half dollar to start sets with.
