The silver Kennedy half dollar drought continues -- but recently I've had more luck finding silver dimes. Earlier this week I found an AU 1957 Roosevelt dime in one roll. Today I found a 1944-D Mercury Head dime in a Loomis roll, which is the first one I have found in >1 year. Unfortunately, I'm missing the 1945-D dime in my collection.

I've noticed that the Loomis rolls I acquire from local banks typically have the same mix of circulated dimes as do customer-wrapped rolls. So I think I have an equally good chance of finding silver dimes in Loomis rolls. Of course, only a customer-wrapped roll might contain 50 silver dimes that originally saved by a coin collector that someone else naively cashes at a bank. I once acquired three rolls of silver dimes at a local bank -- but I don't expect that to happen again soon.

It happens, and it is an AMAZING feeling! I've found 10 such rolls... three years ago, I acquired one roll one month at a branch of my main bank amongst a group of four "old style" bank rolls... I had a weird feeling there might be more so I kept "fishing" tellers there and found a stash of 8 more a month later amongst a group of 43 "old style" rolls... and then last year found a lone silver roll at a branch of a bank in a neighboring city that I rarely frequent - it was marked "silver dimes"...
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

The three rolls of silver dimes I acquired also were in old-fashioned wrappers. So (like John77 did), when I realized I had acquired a trove of silver dimes I returned to the same bank the next day and asked the tellers if they had additional coins in the same kind of wrappers. Unfortunately that was not the case. I suppose they might handed over additional rolls of silver coins from the same collection to other customers before I showed up.
