Cool! Which casino in Las Vegas? Very few coin in/coin out machines left on the Strip or downtown on Fremont st.

That is so cool. Have not seen a coin slot in many years. Last silver 25c I got in a slot was in Aruba, 1994 I think. It was a 1964 in awesome condition, now in a 2x2.

Thanks, Maine Member and Errers and Varietys!
And I plan on putting that one in a 2x2 kind of as a little momento of said trip to Vegas.

If you found it at Circus Circus it may have been in the coin hopper since 1957! For those of you non Vegas folks, that was a joke. Circus Circus is not one of the busier places on the Strip.

Nice score! Back in the 90's (when the local casino still had older style slots that dispensed coins), I used to find at least 1 silver every time we went gambling. That ping sound when it hits the pay tray, unmistakable.

That ping sound when it hits the pay tray, unmistakable. In the '90s, I used to frequently go to Vegas and Laughlin specifically to play the half dollar video poker machines and "hopper" them (that means run them out of coins)... ended up with a whole change bucket of 40% ones thanks to those trips. BTW, I did hit a Royal Flush on one of said machines once... my one and ONLY winning Vegas moment lol.

So I did a little "thread research" on hunting for coins in Vegas casinos... Turns out I wasn't the only one who used to cash out the 50 cent slots in search of 40% silver halves... http://goccf.com/t/153845http://goccf.com/t/405099 (I actually posted on this thread 3 years ago) And, while I didn't have success this time, other people have thought of using the change machines to get silver and/or "W" quarters. I did $60 total this trip and struck out, but, alas, I will be back in July... http://goccf.com/t/347932
