Is it a good cleaning that preserves the market value, or a destructive cleaning that renders the coin virtually worthless?

I think that it was "tissued"; I've seen worse. It's not a Lost Cause by any means

Some patina remains, particularly on the reverse. This coin was cleaned some time ago.

Right obverse field never lies. Looks like long ago cleanig. Have you submitted to TPG? They will sometimes net grade down and give straight gradea.
