Rim issues make this a bullion coin for me.

According to Numismedia price guide, an AU 1945-S Mercury dime is worth about $4.

That's assuming the coin is truly AU. The USoA text seems quite wavy and smooshed to be About Uncirculated, but many folks here are far better than I at grading.

I know this is subjective, but I like the tone. It could definitely fill an album hole.

Pretty much melt value. Might be fun to give the coin a loooooong soak in 100% acetone.

Please make an effort next time to crop and properly rotate your photos.

The damage makes this a silver melt value coin to me.

It is a common date / mintmark. A lot were made as there was a war on and the economy by 1945 was in full war production mode. It is 90% silver, which is the primary driver of a value of $2-3.
