Purchased inexpensively on ebay. Coin was sold as a clipped planchet by a shop that specializes in error coins.

The quarter appears to have been circulated for a while before it was rescued as a mint error.

Thanks, guys. =)

I am going to plunk it into some pure acetone and see if some of that haze comes off.

There ya go. Hopefully it is just an oily film and the wash will remove it.

The acetone did take some of the haze off the fields. I think that was the result of being stored in a plastic flip in a humid environment. The quarter is definitely AU though. It has circulation rubbing in all the expected areas. I don't have my photo setup available, but if I remember later I will snap a couple pictures for posterity.
